These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings for events organised by Exclusively Single. By booking or attending an Exclusively Single event, you agree to these Terms & Conditions together with our Privacy Policy and Code of Conduct.
1. About Exclusively Single
Exclusively Single organises small, hosted social events designed to give single people the opportunity to meet naturally, in person. Exclusively Single is not a matchmaking agency and does not guarantee that any guest will meet a romantic partner, receive a future introduction, go on a date or form a relationship. Your ticket purchases admission to the event and the experience provided as part of that event.
2. Eligibility
Our initial events are designed for guests aged 45 and over. Guests must meet any age, location, matching preference or other eligibility requirements stated on the relevant event page. We may operate separate ticket allocations in order to maintain an appropriate balance between guests who are seeking one another. Submitting a booking request does not guarantee that a place will be available within the appropriate allocation. Where we do not currently offer an event suitable for your stated matching preference, we will explain this respectfully and may offer you the option to hear about future events.
3. Booking and Payment
All places must normally be booked and paid for in advance. Unless expressly stated otherwise, tickets will not be available for purchase at the venue. A booking is confirmed only once payment has been successfully completed and you have received confirmation from Exclusively Single or its authorised ticketing provider. Places are limited and may become unavailable without notice.
4. Event Capacity and Guest Balance
Exclusively Single events are deliberately small. We may limit the number of tickets available within different guest categories in order to create a balanced and enjoyable event. This means an event may appear to have general capacity remaining while a particular allocation is already full. Where appropriate, we may offer a waiting list. We do not guarantee any precise ratio or composition of guests, as cancellations and circumstances outside our control can affect attendance.
5. Personal Details Between Guests
Privacy and discretion are central to the Exclusively Single experience. To protect guests and reduce pressure during the event, guests should not exchange personal contact details with one another during an Exclusively Single event. This includes, but is not limited to: Mobile phone numbers; Personal email addresses; Home addresses; Social media usernames or profiles; Messaging-app details; Workplace contact information; Any other information intended to allow direct personal contact after the event. Guests must not pressure another guest to provide personal information. Guests should also avoid photographing, copying or otherwise attempting to obtain another guest’s personal details without their clear permission. The purpose of this policy is to allow everyone to enjoy the evening without feeling obliged to make an immediate decision about sharing their private contact information.
6. Connecting After an Event
If you would like to continue a conversation with another guest after an event, Exclusively Single can help facilitate that connection privately. After the event, guests may be given an opportunity to tell Exclusively Single which other guest or guests they would be happy to hear from. We will only facilitate an introduction where both guests have independently indicated that they would like to connect with one another. If interest is not mutual, no introduction will be made and we will not disclose who expressed interest. Where interest is mutual, Exclusively Single may contact both guests and provide a safe method for them to begin communicating. We will not provide one guest with another guest’s personal contact details without that person’s permission. A guest is never required to accept an introduction or continue communicating after an introduction has been made.
7. No Guarantee of Introductions
Attending an Exclusively Single event does not guarantee: A mutual connection; An introduction after the event; A particular number of conversations; A date; A romantic relationship; Any particular outcome from attending. Exclusively Single creates the setting, hosting and opportunity for guests to meet. Any decision to continue contact afterwards remains entirely with the individuals involved.
8. Guest Conduct
All guests must behave respectfully towards other guests, venue staff and the Exclusively Single host. Guests must: Respect personal boundaries; Accept rejection or lack of interest gracefully; Avoid inappropriate, intrusive or sexual questioning unless clearly welcomed; Avoid aggressive, intimidating or threatening behaviour; Avoid unwanted physical contact; Avoid harassment or discrimination; Avoid excessive intoxication; Respect the privacy of other guests; Follow reasonable instructions from the host; Respect the venue and its staff. 9. Contact and Boundaries
A guest must not attempt to circumvent the Exclusively Single post-event introduction process by pressuring another guest to provide their personal contact details during the event. Guests must not repeatedly request contact information, attempt to obtain information indirectly from another attendee, or use information learned during an event to contact somebody without their permission. This includes attempting to locate another guest through social media, professional networking sites or other online services using information learned during an event where that contact would reasonably be unexpected or unwelcome. If another guest does not express mutual interest through the Exclusively Single introduction process, that decision must be respected.
10. Host Authority
Each event will have an Exclusively Single host or representative. The host is there to welcome guests, facilitate the evening and help maintain a comfortable and respectful environment. The host may intervene where behaviour is inappropriate, disruptive or makes another guest uncomfortable. The host may ask a guest to modify their behaviour or, where necessary, leave the event. A guest who refuses to follow a reasonable instruction from the host may be removed from the event.
11. Removal From an Event
Exclusively Single reserves the right to remove a guest where we reasonably believe their behaviour: Breaches these Terms; Breaches the Code of Conduct; Harasses or intimidates another guest; Creates a safety concern; Seriously disrupts the event; Makes other guests or venue staff feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Where a guest is removed because of their behaviour, they may not be entitled to a refund. Serious or repeated breaches may result in that person being prevented from attending future Exclusively Single events.
12. Photography and Filming
Exclusively Single will not photograph or film guests during an event for marketing or social media purposes. Guests must also respect the privacy of others. Guests should not photograph, film or record other attendees without their clear permission. Photography or recording that disrupts the private nature of the event may result in intervention by the host.
13. Alcohol
Alcohol may be available at some Exclusively Single events. Guests are responsible for drinking responsibly. A non-alcoholic alternative will be available where a welcome drink forms part of the event. Excessive intoxication or behaviour resulting from intoxication may lead to a guest being refused entry, refused further service by the venue or asked to leave.
14. Dietary and Accessibility Requirements
Where food is provided, guests should tell us about relevant dietary requirements or allergies when requested during the booking process. Guests should also tell us about any accessibility requirements that may reasonably affect their attendance. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requirements notified to us in advance, but we cannot guarantee that every request can be accommodated.
15. Event Changes
Exclusively Single may occasionally need to change: The venue; The event time; The host; Food or drink arrangements; Other reasonable operational details. Where a significant change occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to notify booked guests using the contact details supplied during booking.
16. Event Cancellation
If Exclusively Single cancels an event and does not offer a suitable replacement, guests will be entitled to a refund of the ticket price paid to Exclusively Single. We are not responsible for additional expenses incurred by guests in connection with attendance, such as travel, accommodation, parking or childcare, unless required by law.
17. Guest Cancellations and Refunds
The specific cancellation and refund policy applicable to your booking will be shown during the booking process or on the relevant event page. That policy forms part of these Terms. Where no statutory right to a refund applies, refunds are subject to the cancellation terms communicated when you book. This section should be updated with the final Exclusively Single cancellation policy before bookings open.
18. Arrival and Late Attendance
Guests should arrive at the time stated in their booking confirmation. Late arrival may affect your experience and our ability to provide the intended hosted introduction process. We cannot guarantee admission where a guest arrives substantially late, particularly where this would disrupt the event.
19. Guest Information
Guests must provide accurate information when making a booking. You must not deliberately provide false information about matters relevant to event eligibility. Exclusively Single may cancel a booking or refuse entry where we reasonably believe material information supplied during booking is false.
20. Privacy and Data
We collect and use personal information only as described in our Privacy Policy. Information supplied for the purpose of booking, operating an event or facilitating a post-event introduction will not automatically be shared with other guests. Where two guests have mutually agreed to connect, we will only share personal details or enable direct communication in accordance with the permissions given by those guests.
21. Safety
Exclusively Single takes reasonable steps to create a safe, respectful and professionally hosted environment. However, guests remain responsible for their own personal decisions and interactions. An introduction facilitated by Exclusively Single does not represent an endorsement, background check, guarantee or verification of another guest beyond any eligibility checks expressly stated by us. Guests should use their own judgement when deciding whether to communicate with, meet or form any relationship with another person after an event.
22. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to applicable law, Exclusively Single is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from attendance at an event or interactions between guests. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
23. Refusal of Future Bookings
Exclusively Single may refuse or cancel a future booking where we reasonably believe this is necessary to: Protect another guest; Protect venue staff or hosts; Maintain the integrity of the event; Address a serious or repeated breach of these Terms or the Code of Conduct. Any decision will be made reasonably and should not be interpreted as a judgement about a person’s general suitability for dating or relationships.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version applicable to a booking will normally be the version in effect when the booking was made, unless a change is required by law or is necessary for safety. The latest version will be published on exclusivelysingle.com.
